I've made every publishing mistake possible, so you don't have to. I've also sold 400,000 books.
We'll find your audience together.
Self-publishing is one of those things that looks simple until you're three months in, €800 down on Amazon ads, and your book has twelve reviews, eleven of which are from your mum. I've been there. I've also worked out how to get out of there.
Let me show you.

I've done two thing people said weren't possible. Lived entirely from writing for twelve years, first as a traditionally published author, then as a self-publisher.
Before I had a publisher, a platform, or a marketing budget, I built two viral websites taking the mickey out of German culture. Millions of people read them, several newspapers wrote about them, and — most importantly — enough people bought the book that followed to put it on the SPIEGEL bestseller list three times.
That wasn't an accident. It was the result of understanding how readers find books, what makes them click, and what makes them buy. Since then I've navigated traditional publishing with C.H. Beck and Ullstein, run Amazon ad campaigns that have been profitable for seven years, and made almost every mistake an independent author can make.
The mistakes are the useful part.
I know exactly where the money gets wasted, where authors give up too early, and what actually moves the needle.
Three things most authors get badly wrong.
Branding & Positioning
Your cover, your title, your blurb — the three things readers judge in under three seconds before moving on to something with a dragon on the cover. Most authors get at least one badly wrong, and it's usually the one they were most confident about.
We'll look at your book as a product on a shelf rather than a manuscript you've spent a year on. Those are very different things. The sooner you see the difference, the better.
- Cover and title critique
- Blurb rewriting
- Category and keyword strategy
- Competitive positioning
Amazon Advertising
I have ad campaigns that have been running profitably for seven years. I also have campaigns that were expensive lessons in what not to do. The difference between them is mostly in the setup — keyword targeting, bid strategy, campaign structure — and none of it is as complicated as Amazon would like you to believe.
I'll show you what's actually working, what you can stop paying for immediately, and how to tell the difference going forward.
- Campaign audit and restructure
- Keyword and ASIN targeting
- Budget and bid optimisation
- ACOS analysis and targets
Platform & Promotion
Where to build an audience, how to avoid spending three years on platforms that will never sell a single book, and how to make the most of the attention you already have.
Most authors dramatically underestimate how much attention they already have and dramatically overestimate how much Instagram is going to help.
- Newsletter and Substack strategy
- Platform audit and prioritisation
- Launch planning
- Traditional vs self-publishing decisions
